BALMAIN SPRING/SUMMER 2021 RUNWAY #BALMAINSS21

It may be an unusual week for Paris Fashion Week, but Olivier Rusting returned to runway format on Wednesday for first place in Balmain's Spring 2021. Strictly speaking, however, this was not a typical Ballman show.

First, like many celebrities, stylists, and other "brand friends" who could not travel to the front row, the French fashion house posted live video of guests watching the show on LG screens in the first three. Show feeds. Rows on one side of the runway. The designer described the show's notes as "community" with explanations.

Then, at the top of the presentation, Rusting came out on her own and sat down in a chair alone at the end of the runway, watching as six older models came out dressed in black, white and gray. These glances were actually drawn from Balman's archives, Pierre Balman designed himself in the mid-century, and the roasting team updated with the style of the recently re-launched PB Maze. And the women who exhibited in the past ran all salon-style presentations, which is why they were tapped to pay tribute to this salon-style. It was called "Heritage".

When Monsieur Pierre Ballman founded the house after France's independence in 1945, he was young, courageous, and convinced that better days lie ahead. Today we have all experienced the tremendous power of 2020's solidarity, empathy, and toughness - which assures us that we can move forward and emerge stronger in this moment. Oliver Roasting
